Add links to your booth

C
Written by Customer Success

Add links to forms, surveys, brochures or any web page at the bottom of your booth. This article is for the sponsor admin. In the admin panel the list is called Side bar integrations (slido, etc); attendees see it as a section named Links, and each link opens in the browser.

Before you start

  • You need sponsor admin access to the booth. See Access your booth in the admin panel.

  • The mobile app and the web app do not embed these pages. They show a list of links, so enter the normal address of the page, not an embed address or embed code.

  • If the organizer shows the sponsor list on their own website with the sponsor widget, that widget can embed these pages in a side panel. The organizer controls this.

  • Warning: a link can pass the attendee's name, email and ID to the linked site. See "Pre-fill a form with attendee details".

Where to find it

Booths > your booth > Edit Virtual Booth in the admin panel. The Virtual Booth drawer has two lists: Sponsor deck (carousel) and Side bar integrations (slido, etc).

Add a link

  1. Open Booths and select your booth.

  2. Select Edit Virtual Booth.

  3. Under Side bar integrations (slido, etc), select New. The Side bar integration drawer opens.

  4. Enter a Title. Attendees see it as the name of the link.

  5. Enter the Url, starting with https://.

  6. Select Create. Brella shows "Media item added successfully."

Slide type is fixed to Embed web page / video / stream (URL) in this list. You can't add an image here. Attendees see the new link the next time they open your booth.

Edit, reorder or delete a link

  • Each row shows the site's icon, the Title, the Url and an Edit button. Select Edit to change the title or the address, then select Update. Brella shows "Changes saved successfully."

  • Drag a row to change the order. Attendees see the links in this order. The new order saves at once with "Updated successfully."

  • To delete a link, select Edit, then Delete, then Delete again under "Are you sure?". Brella shows "Media item deleted successfully."

URL rules

Rule

Detail

Scheme

https:// or http://. The form rejects an address without a scheme: "This field must be a valid url."

Host

A domain name with a dot and a letter-only ending of at least 2 letters, for example example.com. IP addresses and localhost are rejected: "Url is not a valid URL. Please try again."

Blocked

Any other scheme, for example ftp://, javascript:, data: or mailto:. The address is rejected with "This field must be a valid url." or "Url is not a valid URL. Please try again."

Count

No limit on the number of links per booth.

Brella checks the format of the address when you save it. It does not check whether the page exists.

Pre-fill a form with attendee details

The mobile app and the web app replace these placeholders in the address when an attendee opens your booth:

Placeholder

Replaced with

BRELLA_ATTENDEE_ID

The attendee's registrant ID

BRELLA_ATTENDEE_FIRST_NAME

First name

BRELLA_ATTENDEE_LAST_NAME

Last name

BRELLA_ATTENDEE_EMAIL

The attendee's account email. Empty if the account has no email.

Example: https://example.com/survey?email=BRELLA_ATTENDEE_EMAIL&name=BRELLA_ATTENDEE_FIRST_NAME.

The sponsor widget on the organizer's website does not replace placeholders. Website visitors are not signed in, so the placeholder text stays in the address.

Warning: the attendee's details are sent to the linked site in the address. Use this only with sites that are allowed to receive that data.

What attendees see

  • A section named Links with the number of links, for example "Links (3)", at the bottom of your booth, after the booth sections.

  • One card per link with the site's icon, the title and the address. The address is shown with the placeholders already replaced.

  • Selecting a card opens the address outside the booth: in the device browser on the mobile app, in a new browser tab on the web app.

  • The section is hidden when the booth has no links.

Opening a link is not counted in your Traffic Analytics. Only booth visits and carousel slides are tracked.

Limits

  • Links open outside the booth. An embed-only address, for example a form's /embed link, opens as a bare page in the browser.

  • The address shown to attendees is the final address. Links with placeholders show the attendee's own data in the card.

  • The order is the same for every attendee.

  • There is no preview in the admin panel. Open your booth in the web app to check the result.

Troubleshooting

"This field must be a valid url."
The address is incomplete or has no https:// or http:// in front. Enter a full address such as https://example.com/page.

"Url is not a valid URL. Please try again."
The scheme is not http or https, or the host is an IP address or has no domain ending. Use a normal web address.

The link opens a page that looks broken
The address is an embed address. Use the address of the full page instead.
